Guwahati: Police have rescued four Bangladeshi minor girls from Kamakhya railway junction in Assam's Guwahati city.

Police also apprehended one suspected human trafficker and recovered four fake AADHAR cards in possession from them.

Police have suspected that human traffickers brought the girls from Bangladesh under the pretext of providing them jobs in India.

An official of Government Railway Police (GRP) said that on Friday they rescued four minor girls hailing from Bangladesh who came from Tripura side.

“We have found four AADHAR cards in possession from them, but the cards are fake. During interrogation, they told us that, they are from Bangladesh. All are minor girls and they said that their next destination was Delhi. The matter is under investigation,” the official said.
