Assam: Police arrest an ADC in alleged fund misappropriation

Guwahati, Nov 12 (IBNS) : The Assam police arrested a top government official in connection with alleged development fund misappropriation from Upper Assam’s Golaghat district on Friday night, police said on Saturday.

According to the reports, police arrested Anjunabh Chaliha, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in Jorhat and Development Commissioner in Golaghat district in alleged development fund misappropriation case.

“We had arrested the government official following the FIR lodged by Johat District Commissioner against Chaliha and the Chairman of General Caste Development Council,” a top police official said.

Meanwhile police launched operation to nab the Chairman of the development council, who still absconding.
