Assam: Police arrest drug peddler with drugs in Guwahati

Guwahati: Police haVE arrested a drug peddler along with drugs at Noonmati area in Guwahati city on Thursday night.

According to the police, the drug peddler, who is identified as Sahidul Islam, came to the area and tried to sell drugs to some local youths.

Police seized 128 grams of brown sugar, a scooty, one mobile phone in possession from him.

A police officer said Guwahati city police is continuing its operation against drugs in the city and arrested several persons with drugs in recent times.

On the other hand, Chirang district police had also arrested two drug peddlers from the Santipur area in Chirang district and seized 500 Nitrazepam tablets, 3496 SPSPHEN tablets, two mobile handsets, Indian currency notes of Rs 1220, Bhutanese currency notes of 1776 in possession from them.
