Assembly elections: BJP leads in Maharashtra, Haryana
New Delhi, Oct 19 (IBNS): As the counting for the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections commenced on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in both the states.
According to current trends, the BJP might need an ally to form government in Maharashtra.
Going by the latest trends, BJP is leading in 111 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra assembly.
The Shiv Sena is following with 56 seats.
However, the Congress seems to losing its ground in the state with lead in 49 seats so far.
In Haryana, the BJP has also managed to lead in majority seats.
The party is leading in 43 seats, according to the latest trends.
The Congress, which ruled Haryana for last 10 years, is battling with OP Chautala's Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for second place.
