Assembly polls: EC announces voting dates for five states, counting of votes to take place on Mar 10
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven phases from Feb 10 to Mar 7 to elect a new Assembly, Election Commission of India said on Saturday.
The elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place on Feb 10, 14 , 20, 23, 27, Mar 3 and 7.
Manipur will go to the polls on February 27 and March 3. Goa, Uttarakhand and Punjab will vote on Feb 14.
The counting of votes will be held on Mar 10, Chandra said.

Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said no physical political rallies and roadshows will be allowed till Jan 15.
"Polling time has been increased by one hour," Chandra said.
After the West Bengal Assembly polls last year, the Calcutta High Court had observed that EC officials did nothing to prevent election rallies from becoming super-spreader events.
The Commission has recently increased the expenditure limit for candidates from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 95 lakh in Lok Sabha polls and from Rs 28 lakh to Rs 40 lakh for state assembly polls.
