Azaan disturbs people: Pragya Singh Thakur

| @indiablooms | Nov 10, 2021, at 11:42 pm

Bhopal/UNI: Local parliamentarian Pragya Singh Thakur has alleged that the morning azaan (Islamic call to prayer) bothers people.

A video of her speech – during a public function in this district’s Berasia area on Tuesday – is going viral in social media.

“At about 0500 hrs, sounds heard from special places of worship disturb sleep, make the sick restless and create a hurdle for those who meditate at that time,” she said.

Protesting against her words, the main opposition Congress’ local legislator Arif Masood told journalists on Wednesday that Ms Thakur ought to avoid such statements and instead pay attention to development issues.

“She herself does not go among the public in times of adversity,” he said.
