Kolkata/IBNS: Triggering speculation over his political move in poll-bound West Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anirban Ganguly on Tuesday met Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee.

Ganguly presented a book authored by him called, "Amit Shah & the March of BJP" to Chatterjee.

Not divulging much about the meeting, the BJP said, "They had an interesting and insightful conversation."

The meeting has triggered speculation in the state, which will plunge into the high-octane polls in weeks' time, as the BJP in recent times inducted various film personalities to its party fold, almost in the way the same was done by the ruling Trinamool Congress in its heydays.

Interestingly, the BJP has stated it will induct a few celebrities to the party fold on Wednesday.

Just a day ago, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of BJP's parental organisation Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), met with Bollywood superstar and Bengali icon, Mithun Chakraborty, in Mumbai.

However, the two denied any political discussion during the meeting.

Weeks ago, Indian cricket board president Sourav Ganguly was speculated over his joining in the BJP though the former Indian skipper is presently recovering from his physical ailment.

Though the BJP has defected a number of Trinamool leaders over the last few months, the saffron party, which is heavily dependent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for its campaigns, still lacks a pan-Bengal politician to take on feisty Mamata Banerjee, who is steering the ruling party for over two decades.
