Delhi/Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal government employees, protesting over the Dearness Allowance (DA) demands for the last 72 days, have now taken the stir to Delhi, to gain more attention to their agitation.

The employees have been seeking the payment of their pending DA from the Mamata Banerjee government.

Several people have been on hunger strikes to get their demands met.

The protesters are sitting in a dharna in Delhi for at least two days to draw the attention of the authorities.

Led by the 'Sangrami Joutho Mancha' - a joint forum of several state government employees associations, the protesters are staging the dharna at the Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Monday and Tuesday.

The Delhi Police issued permits from 10 am to 4 pm for both days.
