Lucknow/UNI: In the wake of the announcement to withdraw the 3 controversial farm laws by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 19, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) will hold Kisan Mahapanchayat in Lucknow on Monday.

Farmer leader and BKU national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait has convened this maha panchayat, where farmers from far flung areas would attend.

Tikait has said in a statement here on Sunday that the Kisan Mahapanchayat to be held at Ecogarden (Old Jail) Bangla Bazar in Lucknow on November 22.

He also appealed to the farmers, laborers and youth to participate in the Mahapanchayat in large numbers.

He said that the agricultural market reforms being talked about by the government are fake and artificial. The plight of the farmers is not going to stop with these reforms. The biggest reform would be to legislate Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agriculture and farmers.

He said that the issue of withdrawal of cases against farmers and compensation to the killed farmers would be discussed in the mahapanchayat.

Keeping in mind the farmers' movement which has been going on for a year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday last announced the withdrawal of all three agriculture laws.

Even after the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, till now no decision has been taken by the farmers' organizations about ending the agitation so far.

Farmers' organizations have made it clear that till the time a law is not made on MSP, their agitation will continue.

Tomorrow's Kisan Mahapanchayat in Lucknow will prepare a roadmap after the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws, in which a large number of farmers are said to be involved.

BKU sources here said that various issues will be discussed during the Kisan Mahapanchayat.

Apart from this, on Nov 26, the movement is going complete a year.
