Bihar: Elderly person beaten to death

Hajipur, Jul 2 (UNI) A mob thrashed an elderly person to death by accusing him of being a thief at Akhtiyarpur Patedha village under Sarai police station area in Vaishai district late last night.

Police said some people overpowered a person when he was trying to commit theft at the house of one Santlal Paswan and thrashed him ruthlessly with wooden sticks leading to his death.

The deceased around 55 years of age could not be identified immediately.

Police said the body had been sent for autopsy. Further investigation was on.
