The by-election in the Bochaha seat was held on April 12 following the demise of  Musafir Paswan, the seating MLA from VIP.

Amar Paswan is the son of Musafir Paswan who was the sitting MLA of VIP from Bochaha seat.

RJD had given the ticket to Amar Paswan to contest from Bochaha in the assembly by-election.

Altogether 13 candidates including three women were in the fray.

Meanwhile, Bihar RJD president Jagadanand Singh expressed his pleasure over the victory of the party candidate in Bochaha.
