Bill Gates appreciates Indian officer for her involvement in National Health Mission of Assam

Guwahati: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has appreciated  NHM Assam mission director Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya for the initiatives taken by Assam to improve nutrition outcomes.

He appreciated the IAS while attending Empowerment Through Nourishment: Celebrating Women of New India, event organized by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India at New Delhi.

Gates also tweeted on the issue and wrote: "India is making strong progress toward a healthier future for women and children through POSHAN 2.0 with a focus on data & monitoring. Today I met with two amazing administrators, Amy Joseph and Lakshmi Priya, who are helping to improve nutrition outcomes. @MinistryWCD."

Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development Smriti Irani also attended the event.
