Kozhikode, OCT 24 (IBNS): A group of people bearing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) flags allegedly ransacked a popular coffee shop in Kerala's Kozhikode on Thursday evening, media reports said.

Sources said the attackers were members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (youth arm) and they were reportedly campaigning against “immoral activities” in restaurants and coffee shops in the city.

The entire incident of vandalism was caught in camera also as the irate activists rushed into the coffee shop smashing its windows and furniture.

Police said that it was a case of moral policing as the shop, Downtown, used to stay open till late.

The coffee shop is known to be a popular joint for young men and women, especially students from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and the National Institute of Technology (NIT).
