BJP adopts three mantras ‘Security-Civilization-Development’ for its Assam assembly poll campaign

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam Finance Minister and convenor of BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the composite Assamese culture is under threat and BJP has adopted three mantras – Suraksha (security), Sabhyata (civilization) and Vikas (development) and these are the three pillars of the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming assembly polls in the state.

He also said that Congress has polarized the election by doing an alliance with Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that BJP’s campaign will be on security, civilization and development.

“We talk about security across the border and inside, because the composite Assamese culture is under threat. We talk about civilization, because our civilization is under threat and then we have to talk about development. These are the three pillars of our campaign,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Commenting on Congress-AIUDF alliance, Dr Sarma said that it will have a positive impact in favour of BJP, because people of Assam will not vote for Ajmal.

“By doing an alliance with a communal party Congress has polarized the election. If Congress had contested separately, this election would have been in development. But aligning with AIUDF, Congress has made this election a conflict of civilization,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

Showing his confidence for BJP’s massive victory in the upcoming assembly polls in the state, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Assam is going to witness a massive victory for BJP.

“We are trying to improve our tally from last year. People’s responses are quite good, rather very impressive. I am hopeful of a huge victory. We are targeting to win 100 seats,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
