BJP leader compares Rahul Gandhi to 'Ravana'

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IBNS): A BJP MLA has triggered a controversy by describing Congress President Rahul Gandhi to the demon king Ravana from Indian mythology Ramayana.

BJP leader Surendra Singh also compared Rahul's sister Priyanka Gandhi to Ravana's sister Surpanakha.

He even went ahead and compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Hindu Lord Ram.

“My Modi is playing the role of Lord Ram and Congress president Rahul Gandhi is Ravana and his sister Priyanka is nothing but Surpanakha,” the BJP leader was quoted as saying by the media.

“Ravana has put up his sister against my Ram,”  he said.

Priyanka Gandhi joined active politics officially recently.

The comments have been made at a time when the country is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls.
