Bomb threat to Puducherry Raj Nivas ends as hoax

Puducherry/UNI: A bomb threat to the Raj Nivas and Puducherry Railway station proved to be a hoax.

According to police sources, Puducherry police control room received an anonymous call on Sunday afternoon stating that bombs were planted at the Raj Nivas and Railway station here and will explode today.

Police with Bomb Disposal squad,sniffer dogs and metal detector conducted a search in both the places and could find nothing.

On checking, it was found that the number which called the control room ins from the Puducherry central prison.A police team rushed to the jail and inquired when they came to know that one Nithish, hailing from Delhi who is in the prison arrested in a car theft case rang up the control room. It also came to know that he also rang up the Tamilnadu police control room and informed that a bomb will explode at the Chennai central Railway station.

Police are investigating further.
