BREAKING: CBI summons Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in jobs scam

| @indiablooms | Apr 17, 2023, at 09:24 pm

West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress MP and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) tomorrow for questioning in the teachers recruitment scam, said media reports on Monday.

The CBI has reportedly sent notice to Abhishek Banerjee amid an interim stay in the Supreme Cour in another case. The CBI directed him to appear at Nizam Palace in Kolkata at 11 am tomorrow.

The Supreme Court earlier stayed a Calcutta High Court order asking the CBI and ED to also question Abhishek Banerjee in connection with Bengal school teachers' recruitment scam.

Trinamool leader and former state education minister Partha Chatterjee was arrested last year in the jobs scam.

Details of the summons are awaited.
