London: Oxford University on Monday said its coronavirus vaccine appears safe and produces a good immune response. Reports said trials involving 1,077 people found them making antibodies and T-cells that can fight coronavirus.

Oxford’s Covid-19 vaccine produces a good immune response, reveals new study, Oxford University tweeted.

"Teams at @VaccineTrials and @OxfordVacGroup have found there were no safety concerns, and the vaccine stimulated strong immune responses," it posted.

A team of scientists at Oxford University’s Jenner Institute and Oxford Vaccine Group has taken the next step towards the discovery of a safe, effective and accessible vaccine against coronavirus.

The results of the Phase I/II trial published today in the scientific journal, The Lancet, indicate no early safety concerns and induces strong immune responses in both parts of the immune system.
