New Delhi: British envoy in India Alex Ellis on Monday condoled the killing of over 20 Indian security personnel in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh last week.

The British official said his nation is ready to continue counter terrorism cooperation with India.

"As we learn more about #Chhattisgarh condolences for the losses suffered by the security personnel, thoughts for their families and wishes of swift recovery for the wounded. UK will continue to work with India in fight against terrorism." Ellis tweeted.

On Saturday, Maoists ambushed security forces that were conducting a major operation in the heavily forested state. As a result, over 20 Indian security members were killed and more than 30 sustained injuries.
