New Delhi, Nov 9 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hosted a tea party for the new inductees of his Cabinet, which is expected to be expanded around 1:30 PM.
The Union Council of Ministers might get 20 new faces being inducted into the team of 45 ministers, said reports.

The oath-taking ceremony is expected to begin at 1.30 pm in the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, sources said.

This is the first expansion since Modi took oath as the PM on May 16.

Former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is likely to be inducted as the Defence Minister in Modi's Cabinet relieving Arun Jaitley, who was holding charges of two crucial portfolios - Finance and Defence.

According to reports, DV Sadananda Gowda could be shifted from Railways.

Some names senior leaders of BJP like Giriraj Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav, Babul Supriyo, Mahesh Sharma, Birendra Singh, Vijay Sampla, Ramesh Bais and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi are also doing the rounds for induction into the cabinet.

Meanwhile, CNN-IBN quoting sources reported that Shiv Sena nominee Anil Desai will be sworn-in as minister.

The Prime Minister has reportedly asked the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to nominate one of its members.
