Kolkata/UNI: A single bench of the Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to question former School Service Commission (SSC) advisor SP Sinha concerning alleged irregularities in the appointment of teachers in government-aided schools.

Justice Abhijit Ganguly in his order requested the federal investigation agency to interview the former advisor of SSC, Shanti Prasad Sinha, on an urgent basis and to complete the interview by 12 pm (on Wednesday) since the court will once again hear the proceeding regarding the alleged illegal appointment on Friday.

It is alleged that some 98 teachers were appointed in Group D-Group C and Class IX-X, of whom 90 had no names on the merit list.

Justice Abhijit Ganguly said, "Call and interrogate him on Wednesday. By midnight, the interrogations must be completed. The former SSC advisor cannot be arrested now, the court order said."
