'Canada is not your playground': Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's threat to Kapil Sharma

New Delhi/IBNS: Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened Kapil Sharma asking him to withdraw his investment in Canada days after the comedian-actor's cafe was attacked in the country's British Columbia province, media reports said.

In a video message, the pro-Khalistani Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) founder issued a threat as quoted by NDTV, "Canada is not your playground. Take your blood money back to Hindustan. Canada will not allow violent Hindutva ideology to take root on Canadian soil under the guise of business."

Pannun, who was designated as 'individual terrorist' by the Union Home Ministry in 2019, has accused Kapil of promoting the Hindutva ideology in Canada on the pretext of business.

He asked the popular Indian comedian whether his Kap's Cafe was "just a comedy venue or part of a larger strategy to export Hindutva".

"One business at a time?" questioned the Khalistani terrorist as reported by the broadcaster.

Owned by Kapil and named Kap’s Café, the restaurant was opened last weekend in Surrey and has quickly become a popular spot for the Indian community.

According to Surrey police, several rounds of bullets were fired at the property. Bullet marks were found on the cafe’s facade as well as on nearby residential buildings.

While no injuries were reported, the attack has triggered concern among residents and the Indian diaspora in the area.

Harjit Singh Laddi, an alleged terrorist of the banned Khalistani outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), has claimed responsibility for the attack.

He is also one of India’s most wanted men listed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to The Indian Express, Laddi said the attack was carried out in anger over remarks allegedly made by Sharma.

The comedian, best known for his long-running television comedy shows, has not issued a public statement so far.
