CBI to quiz KCR's daughter K Kavitha in Delhi liquor policy case today

| @indiablooms | Dec 11, 2022, at 04:48 pm

Hyderabad/IBNS: Security was beefed up near the residence of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha hours ahead of her questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy scam case on Sunday.

The police have set up barricades near her residence and no one is allowed to move nearby her house.

Kavitha, a former MP and now a Member of the Legislative Council, has been given an option of appearing either at the CBI headquarters in Delhi or the probe agency's Hyderabad office.

The questioning will be held at Kavitha's Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad.

A day before the questioning of the TRS leader by the CBI, several posters with the slogan "daughter of the fighter will never fear" were seen in Hyderabad. "We are with Kavithakka", read the posters.

On Dec 6,  Kavitha said she would be available for questioning at her residence at 11 am on Dec 11 in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case.

The Delhi government had rolled out a new policy for selling liquor in the national capital which the Lieutenant Governor red-flagged over alleged corruption and asked the CBI to probe it.

The Arvind Kejriwal government then cancelled the new policy and reverted to the old one.

The Delhi Chief Minister has claimed that the AAP government lost thousands of crores in revenue due to the Lieutenant Governor's intervention in the policy, which happened before the new policy could show results.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is also one of the accused in the case.
