New Delhi/IBNS: In a revised list of activities permitted during the Coronavirus lockdown, the Centre on Sunday announced that supply of non-essential goods by e-commerce platforms will be prohibited.

During phase 2 of lockdown, the Ministry of Home Affairs banned the supply of non-essential goods by e-commerce companies.

The notification comes a day after the Centre released a list of activities and services that will be functional from April 20 in parts of the country, which are least affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The MHA earlier issued revised consolidated guidelines on the Lockdown2 measures to be taken by Ministries/Departments of Govt of India, State/UT governments & State/UT authorities for the containment of #COVID19 in India.

The country of 1.3 billion people is presently passing through the second phase of lockdown which was initially announced by Narendra Modi on March 24 and was later extended up to May 3 by the Prime Minister with India continuing to witness a surge in Coronavirus cases.

The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of 488 people so far and infected 14, 792 in India.
