Hyderabad/UNI: The Government of India, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, celebrated Telangana Formation Day with grandeur at Golconda Fort on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion after unfurling the National flag, Union Minister of Tourism and Culture, G Kishan Reddy, expressed his concerns about the current state of affairs in Telangana.

He stated that Telangana has fallen into the hands of a single family and has become plagued by corruption in various sectors.

Reddy emphasized the need for introspection and criticized the prevalent land, liquor, Dharani, dalit Bandhu, and contract mafias in the state.

Furthermore, Reddy alleged that the government had cancelled the 111 GVO for land grabbing

purposes, and the state has been burdened with mounting debts.

He questioned the intention behind creating Telangana if it was only to accumulate debt and accused the government of engaging in corrupt practices, amounting to thousands of crores.

Reddy also criticized the state government's failure to implement central schemes and questioned the lack of progress on KG to PG and tribal reservations.

The Union Minister highlighted issues such as the suicide of sarpanches due to unpaid bills, the increase in farmhouses without adequate housing for the poor, the closure of existing hospitals, and the favouritism shown towards individuals who were not associated with the movement.

Reddy stressed that the formation of Telangana was a result of collective efforts, wherein the BJP played a vital role, being the only national party in the Joint Action Committee (JAC) at that time. He credited the BJP's role as the opposition party in successfully passing the state bill in Parliament.

He also extended his greeting to the Telugu people across the world on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day.

As part of the day's celebrations, a special exhibition showcasing the achievements of the Union Government over the past nine years was inaugurated.

In the evening, a unique cultural program featuring renowned artists, including Padma Shri Awardee Ananda Shankar Jayant, noted singer Shankar Mahadevan, and Mangli, along with several other artists, will showcase the rich cultural heritage of Telangana and the nation as a whole.
