Amaravati/IBNS: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has hit out at his successor YS Jaganmohan Reddy after a video showing the dead body of a Covid-19 patient being transported in a tractor went viral on social media.

The video shows the dead body of a 70-year old Covid patient was disposed of using a proclainer by municipal authorities in Srikakulam of the southern state.

Hitting out at CM Jagan, Naidu tweeted, "Utterly shocked to see the deceased bodies of #Coronavirus victims wrapped in plastic & transported on JCBs & Tractors. They deserve respect & dignity even in death. Shame on @ysjagan Govt for this inhumane treatment of the mortal remains."

After the video went viral on the internet, Palasa Municipal Commissioner and Sanitary Inspector have been suspended.

Earlier in June, a video of a similar incident in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district, where the dead body of a middle-aged man was picked up and dumped into a garbage van by three municipal workers, went viral.
