Amaravati, Apr 7 (IBNS): The Chandababu Naidu-led TDP has promised Rs 2 lakh a year to each family in Andhra Pradesh in its manifesto for the general elections.

Releasing the party manifesto, Naidu on Saturday promised this if his party was voted to power. He said: "Nobody can match us in extending such largesse even in imagination," he said.

The principal opposition in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress, also made similar promises in their manifesto that was released hours before TDP's.

The big promise in the YSR Congress manifesto is a health insurance without a cap.

According to reports, the state government would require around Rs 2 lakh crore to fulfil the poll promises of either party.
