Civic polls underway in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Nov 22 (IBNS) : The first phase of Uttar Pradesh  civic polls  began on Wedenesday with  five municipal corporations including Ayodhya and Gorakhpur going to vote along with 71 municipal boards and 154 nagar panchayats, reports said.

According to reports, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cast his vote his vote in a Gorakhpur booth soon after the voting began.

Results of the civic polls will be declared on December 1.

The BJP had won 10 out of the 12 mayoral seats in 2012 local election when the BJP was not in power in the state or in Centre.
