Close aides, who were with Lalu Yadav in jail released

Ranchi, Jan 11 (IBNS) : The  close  aides of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who entered Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Central Jail reportedly on a fake case to be with him, have been released, media reports said. quoting jail authorities.

However, police have no idea about the whereabouts of Madan Yadav and Lakshman Mahto, the two associates.

According to reports in local media, several calls to Madan Yadav went unasnwered while Lakshman Yadav’ mobile phone is switched off ever since they walked out of the jail.

Mahto and Yadav, who were reportedly charged with minor offences, were claimed to be serving Lalu as helper and cook.

The RJD chief  is lodged since December 23 after his conviction in a fodder scam case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from the Deoghar treasury 21 years ago.

He was awarded 3.5 years in jail in the case on January 6.
