Congress names candidates for UP Leg Council polls

New Delhi/UNI: The Congress has announced its candidates for the the UP Legislative Council polls.

The Congress president Sonia Gandhi approved candidates for biennial elections to be state legislative council from Uttar Pradesh from Graduate and Teachers constituencies, AICC General secretary Mukul Wasnik said in a statement on Friday night.

Rajesh Dwivedi was named as candidate for Agra Graduates constituency while Jitender Kumar Goud was named the party candidate for Meerur Graduates and Ajay Kumar Singh for the Allahabad Graduates and Brijesh Kumar Singh for the Lucknow Graduates.

Narendra Dutt Tripathi was named as the candidate for the Gorakhpur Faizabad Teachers constituency while Mehndi Hasan was named as candidate for the Bareilly Moradabad Teachers constituency.
