COVID-19 cases in West Bengal cross 2,000 mark after 124 fresh cases appear in past 24 hours

Kolkata/IBNS: With 124 new positive cases and five deaths being reported in last 24 hours, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in West Bengal has mounted to 2063, including 1374 active cases, 118 deaths and 499 discharges, reports said on Monday night.

According to a bulletin published by Bengal health department, state capital Kolkata remains the worst affected district in West Bengal with 1002 confirmed Covid-19cases, including 621 active cases, 77 fatalities, 52 more deaths due to comorbidity and 252 discharges.


The bulletin stated that 82 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours while the number of positive patients' deaths due to comorbidity stood at 72.

State's health officials said that the recovery rate in West Bengal has risen to 24.19 per cent.

West Bengal has tested 47615 samples so far, with 4201 tests were conducted in last 24 hours, the bulletin read.

Presently, 6689 persons are kept in government quarantine centres across West Bengal while 23,296 people are under home surveillance in the state, reports said.
