Covid-19 : Tamil Nadu allows salons, beauty parlours to function from tomorrow

Chennai/UNI: The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced that salons and beauty parlours would be allowed to function from tomorrow across the State except those coming under Chennai police limits and in COVID-19 containment zones.

In a statement here, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said salons and parlours in all Corporations (except Chennai, were coronavirus cases has been on the rise), Municipalities and Panchayats could function from 7 am to 7 pm from tomorrow with certain conditions.

While advising to adopt strict social distancing norms, he said customers and employees should wear facemasks, wash their hands with soaps regularly and those with symptoms of fever and cold should not be allowed to enter.

He also salons and parlours should not engage employees from containment zones and air conditioners should not be used and they should be sanitized five times a day.

Palaniswami also announced that hairdressers, which were allowed to function in rural areas from May 19, would now be allowed to function across the state, except in Chennai and containment zones from tomorrow, by following the guidelines issued by the government.
