Defence Ministry approves 26 BRO cafes in Kashmir, Ladakh

Srinagar/IBNS: Twenty-six locations in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been chosen by the Defence Ministry for the setting up of multi-utility wayside amenities or BRO cafes, media reports said.

The utilities will provide basic amenities and are intended to provide comfort to the tourists.

Out of 26, 12 will be developed on and along the road stretches with the Border Road Organisation (BRO) in Jammu and Kashmir while 14 in Ladakh.

The wayside amenities will be developed and operated in public-private partnership mode with agencies which will work as per the guidelines of BRO.

The agencies will work on a license basis.

The 12 in Jammu and Kashmir approved are TeePee, Tragbal, Hussaingaon, KM 95, KM 117.90, KM 58, Galhar, Siot, Bathuni, Budhal, Kapotha and Surankote.

The 14 roads in Ladakh are Matiyan, Kargil, Mulbek, Khaltse, Leh, Hunder, Choglamsar, Rumtse, Debring, Pang, Sarchu, Agham, Nyoma and Hanle.
