Delhi Civic polls: Counting of votes begin, AAP-BJP engaged in tough battle

New Delhi: Counting of votes for the  Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election has started on Wednesday with early trends showing both Aam Aadmi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party are engaged in a tough battle.

Counting started at 8 am.

The key battle is between the AAP, BJP and Congress.

Voting for the 250 wards in the national capital was held on Dec 4.

Fates of  1,349 candidates will be declared on Wednesday.

As per trends at 8.19 am, AAP is ahead in 24 seats while the BJP is leading in 17.

The Congress is ahead in 5 seats.
