Delhi: Fire breaks out at Mukherjee Nagar coaching centre

New Delhi/UNI: The fire broke out at a coaching institute near Batra Cinema in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area on Thursday afternoon, Delhi Fire Services said.

The students had to climb down through rope from a multi-storey building to save their lives.

According to the fire department, it received a call at around 12:27 pm, regarding a fire at a building in Mukherjee Nagar area.

Responding to the call, a total 11 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the blaze and rescue students.

"A total 11 fire tenders have been rushed to the site and rescue operation is underway," said Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Services.
