New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi LG Delhi VK Saxena has approved the proposal to convene the next session of the MCD House on February 16, for election to the post of mayor, media reports said.

The proposal to convene the House session on February 16 was sent by Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

This comes a day after the removal of government nominees, including AAP leader Jasmine Shah, appointed to the boards of power discoms in Delhi by the Arvind Kejriwal-led regime, India Today reported.

They have been replaced with senior officials, said the report.

Persons removed from the board also include Naveen Gupta, son of AAP MP ND Gupta, and other private persons.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party termed the LG's orders removing Shah and Gupta from the boards of discoms "illegal and unconstitutional".
