Delhi/IBNS: The dismembered body found in North Delhi on Saturday was of a 21-year-old youth, his murder accused told the police.

The two accused—Jagjit Singh alias Jagga and Naushad—befriended him and took him to Naushad's house in Bhalswa Dairy on December 14-15, reported NDTV.

They then killed him and chopped his body into eight pieces and captured a 37-second video of the murder, and sent the recording to a man named Sohail who is allegedly associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan, the report said.

A sum of Rs 2 lakh was sent to Naushad's bank account for the murder, through his brother-in-law in Qatar.

The victim, allegedly a drug addict, was identified by a trident (Trishul) tattoo.

Naushad is a terrorist and was associated with the terrorist group Harkat ul-Ansar, police said, adding that he had been jailed for a long time for charges like murder, and extortion, the report stated.

Jagjit was allegedly in touch with Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Dalla.

Police said Naushad met Red Fort terror attack accused and a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Sohail.

Sohail went to Pakistan in 2018. Naushad contacted him after getting out of jail in April 2022.

The report said citing sources that Sohail directed Naushad to kill influential Hindus, and asked Jagjit Singh to propagate Sikh separatist group Khalistan's activities in India.

Police recovered three pistols, 22 cartridges, and two hand grenades from the accused.

The accused were living in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, where communal clashes took place in 2020.
