Demonetisation: Hyderabad postal dept head, two others booked by CBI

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (IBNS): The CBI on Monday booked three postal workers, including the head of Hyderabad Postal Department, in connection with the exchange of banned currency notes worth 36 lakhs, reports said.

CBI sleuths raided K Sudheer Babu, postal deptartment head's residence on Monday.

During the interrogation, Babu admitted to have exchanged old notes worth 36 lakhs with the newly launched INR 2000 notes.

An FIR has also been registered against Himayatnagar sub-postmaster G Revathi and G. Ravi Teja, office assistant of the senior superintendent office, the Deccan Chronicle reported.
