Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America visits India

New Delhi: U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman is visiting India from Oct 5 to 7, Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday.

On Oct 6, Deputy Secretary of State Sherman will meet Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla to review the India-U.S. bilateral agenda and outcomes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to USA.

They will exchange views on regional issues pertaining to South Asia and the Indo-Pacific region and contemporary global issues, read the MEA statement.

Deputy Secretary of State and Foreign Secretary will also participate on 6 October in a special session of the India-Ideas Summit organised by the U.S. India Business Council.

Deputy Secretary of State Sherman will call on External Affairs Minister and National Security Advisor.

Deputy Secretary Sherman’s visit will be a useful opportunity to continue the regular dialogue and further strengthen the India-U.S. Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.
