'Didi keeping all track': 'Trinamool Congress observer' Mamata Banerjee's message to party

Kolkata/IBNS: At a time the ruling Trinamool Congress is rattled by the dissents, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday sent a strong message to her own party.

By referring to herself as an "observer" of the party at all levels, Banerjee implied she was keeping a close watch on all those who have turned rebel against the Trinamool.

At a rally in Bankura, Banerjee said, "People often ask who are the observers. I am an observer of the Trinamool at all levels. I am keeping all track of all who are contacting other people.

"Yes, I have shown laxity in the party work because of extra work pressure. Now I am again starting to give the same time to the party. Don't think Didi does not know with whom some leaders are meeting."

Suvendu Adhikari, Mihir Goswami, Rabindranath Bhattacharya in recent times have publicly spoken against the Trinamool top brass though the party has tried to reach out to the rebels.

In recent times, the minister addressed a number of public meetings which were completely devoid of any mention of Banerjee and her party's symbol.

In one of the rallies, Adhikari made an indirect attack on Banerjee's nephew and Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee saying, "I haven't reached this position by parachute or elevator. I have reached this point by climbing the stairs."

Senior party leader Saugata Roy, who has been employed by Trinamool's top brass to talk to Adhikari, held a meeting with the West Bengal Transport Minister at an undisclosed location here on Monday.
