Ex-Indian Finance Miniter P Chidambaram taken to AIIMS for medical check-up

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram who is currently lodged in the Tihar jail was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here for medical check-up as he complained of stomach pain.

Former finance minister was taken to AIIMS at around 1400 hours, where he met and consulted concerned doctors at a room in the old private ward block.

His check up was conducted and following which he was suggested treatment and was brought back to the prison by evening time, sources said.

The former minister is currently lodged in the Tihar Prisons since September 5 under judicial custody in the INX Media case.

As per court, Chidambaram should be taken to a hospital for a medical check-up in case he requests for one.
