Ex-Star India's CEO's wife arrested for murder of sister

Mumbai, Aug 26 (IBNS) Former Star India CEO Peter Mukherjea's wife Indrani Mukherjea, arrested for the murder of her sister in 2012, has been sent to police custody till August 31, reports said.

Police have also arrested her driver.

Indrani was arrested by subarban Khar police on Tuesday in connection with the case her sister's remains were found in Raigad and a murder case was registered.


There are allegations against her that she plotted to kill her sister over property dispute.

She is also accused of plotting  the kidnapping and murder with her driver as accomplice.

Indrani and Peter Mukherjea had founded the INX media network but both quit the organisation in 2009.

Mukerjea has been sent to police custody till August 31. Mukerjea and her driver had allegedly plotted entire conspiracy to murder the former’s sister in 2012.

Both Indrani and her driver were produced in the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court and the police got their custody till August 31.

Both have been booked under Sections 302 (murder), 363 (kidnapping) and 201 (destroying evidence) of the IPC.
