Facilitate travel of stranded Kashmiris from West Bengal, Prof Soz tells Mamata Banerjee

Srinagar/UNI: Senior Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz on Sunday requested West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee to facilitate travel of residents of Kashmir valley back to their homes from Kolkata and other places.

Former Union minister Prof Soz in a statement here today said he wrote a letter to Ms Mamta Banrjee that over 6000 residents of different parts of the Kashmir are stranded in West Bengal (WB) after train and air traffic were suspended due to Covid-19 lockdown.

However, many of them wanted to return back to their homes in the valley, he has said in the letter.

Prof Soz requested Chief minister to personally intervene and facilitate safe return of Kashmiris to their homes.
