Mumbai/IBNS: Singer and performer Mika Singh has asked his fans and social media followers to ignore actor Kangana Ranawat, who has sparked a fresh controversy after suggesting in a tweet that an elderly Sikh woman participating in the ongoing farm protests was paid for her appearance.

On December 4, the singer had expressed his disappointment over Ranaut's post.

"I request all my punjabi brothers to please calm down..We are not here to focus on @KanganaTeam I don’t have any personal issues with @KanganaTeam , she made a mistake and faced the reaction. Even though she hasn’t said sorry she deleted her tweet," he wrote.

In another tweet, he wrote Ranaut managed to avoid backlash by targeting "soft people" like filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Hritik Roshan and others and warned her against doing the same with the protesting farmers. In the same tweet, he called her crazy and urged farm law protesters and their supporters to concentrate on their agitation and ignore her comments.

Earlier in the week, Mika had slammed the Queen actor for her allegedly suggesting that people like the elderly Sikh woman could be hired for appearing in protests while stating that he considered himself to be a fan of Ranaut's.

Ranaut was severely criticised on social media by actor Diljit Dosanjh, Richa Chadha, Swara Bhaskar, and several other Punjabi celebrities such as Ammy Virk.
