FIR against BJP leader Sushil Modi for violating Model Code of Conduct

Patna, Sept 29 (IBNS) An FIR has been filed against senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Kumar Modi for violating the Model Code of Conduct in the poll-bound Bihar.

Reports said Modi had allegedly offered gratification to voters at a rally in return for their support in the upcoming Assembly polls.

A case was registered on Monday night under sections of the Representation of People Act at Bhabua police station in Kaimur district.

 During his speech at a programme on Monday, the former Deputy Chief Minister allegedly promised laptop, dhoti-kurta to 50,000 mahadalit students and saree and television to others.

 
 Police have filed charges under 171E and 188 sections of IPC and 123 of RP Act.
