New Delhi/IBNS: A fire broke out at Delhi Transport Department Office in Civil Lines here on Monday, media reports said.

Eight fire engines have rushed to the spot.

The fire department had reportedly received a call at 8:38 am.

A political controversy broke out after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of "erasing the proofs of scams".

In a tweet, Mishra said, "The government which is set to lose the upcoming elections is trying to erase the proofs of scams. The transport department has remained the most corrupt department of Kejriwal. This desperation to burn files is first indicator of Kejriwal defeat in this election." (sic)
