Thiruvananthapuram/IBNS: Five members of a family in Kerala are the latest victims of the deadly novel Coronavirus, taking the total number of infected people in India to be 39.

Three of the family members recently visited Italy, the new epicentre of the virus outbreak in Europe.

According to state Health Minister KK Shailaja, the family did not disclose their travel history at the airport and hence were not screened.

All the five members are residents of Pathanamthitta district. They have been hospitalised in that area itself.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation on Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) and action taken so far by various Ministries.

Nearly 6000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Italy. As of Sunday, 225 people are dead in the country.
