Five police personnel injured in Imphal blast

Guwahati/IBNS: At least five police personnel were injured in a powerful blast that rocked Manipur’s capital city Imphal on Tuesday morning.

According to the reports, the blast took place opposite of Shani Mandir at Thangal Bazar area in Imphal at around 9-30 am.

A top police official said that at least five police personnel including a Sub-Inspector were injured in the blast.

Several vehicles were also damaged in the powerful explosion.

The injured persons were rushed Raj Medicity hospital in Imphal.

Following the blast, top officials of Manipur police and other security agencies have rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

The senior police official said that suspected militants are behind the explosion.
