For the first time got a stable govt: Shiv Sena

Mumbai, May 17 (IBNS) National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ally Shiv Sena on Saturday said India will get a stable government first time in 30 years under the prime ministerialship of Narendra Modi.

In an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana', the Shiv Sena said: "For the first time in 30 years, India has finally got a stable government under the able leadership of Narendra Modi."

"The hellish nightmare of Congress' dynastic politics is over. After years of worship, the gods and goddesses have finally showered their blessings on the people with this election result," the Shiv Sena said.

"Modi came like a real man and the entire country supported him wholeheartedly to free the country," the party said.

Decimating the ruling Congress in a landslide victory, Narendra Modi led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to win 285 seats out of 543 that made it the first party to cross the majority mark of 272 on its own in over 30 years.

Riding on an unprecedented wave of expectations coupled with widespread resentment against the ruling Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Modi almost singled-handedly bought the BJP-led NDA to a 340-seat-tally.

Sonia and Rahul Gandhi-led Congress party meanwhile was routed to just 43 seats, a huge 162 seats short of last time, ending Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s tenure with a humiliating blow.
