Former Assam CM Mahanta reacts on reports of withdraw his NSG cover

Guwahati, Dec 27 (IBNS): Former Chief Minister of Assam and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) stalwart Prafulla Kumar Mahanta on Tuesday said that People of the state will protect his life.

Manhattan's remarks came out with amid reports that the Union Home Ministry has decided to withdraw the NSG cover of the two-time former Assam CM.

Mahanta, who enjoying the Z-plus security cover for over a decade said that, he has not yet received any communication from Home Ministry in this regard.

"I am not receiving any communication, official, non-official into the matter," Mahanta said.

The former Assam CM further said that he will keep raising his voice in the greater interest of the state and for the people.

The top leader of AGP, an ally party of BJP-led Assam government said that, he is not bothered with it.

Recently, the Union Home Ministry had withdrawn NSG cover to three times Assam CM and Congress leader Tarun Gogoi.
